Position Description:
Job Summary: The Inventory Control Manager is
responsible for directing departmental personnel to ensure the timely
and efficient delivery of materials to manufacturing and distribution
operations. They are responsible for ensuring operational excellence
in all inventory control processes by establishing a floor presence,
ongoing coaching, and development of all departmental employees. They
develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material
control systems to reduce costs, increase productivity, and maintain
the highest levels of inventory accuracy. They ensure a culture of
safety drop the organization by ensuring safety policies and
procedures are reviewed on a weekly basis, conducting routine safety
audits, and implementing continuous improvement processes designed to
reduce safety incidents. They meet or exceed key performance metrics
in areas of safety, quality, inventory accuracy, costs and
productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Achieve and maintain a high level of inventory accuracy
in addition to other goals set for this position
·
Reconcile inventories and coordinate annual physical
inventory procedures
·
Work with management on implementing loss prevention
programs and improving management of inventory
·
Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance
programs, including weekly and monthly reports
·
Conduct as necessary, any search to locate products
within the system
·
Perform daily cycle counts and make system adjustments
as necessary
·
Maintain accurate records to help facilitate shortage
detection
·
Develop all necessary reports and documentation to
facilitate accurate inventory counts
·
Train, coach, guide, and motivate employees
·
Maintain safe and orderly work areas in compliance with
safety procedures
·
Communicate effectively with managers and other
departments
·
Help solve problems that arise in daily operations
·
Understand and help to accomplish overall Company goals
·
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
·
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or
university, or combination of education and related work experience,
MBA preferred
·
Five years inventory control or manufacturing
management experience in a fast paced high volume
production/distribution environment.
·
Successful experience managing a JIT picking process.
·
Previous experience implementing, and maintaining
inventory control systems and processes.
·
Warehouse Management System experience required, Red
Prairie experience preferred.
·
Previous experience utilizing AS400 based applications
required, prior experience with JBA software preferred.
·
Must exhibit MS Office software proficiency.
Previous experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and
principles helpful
